Welcome from the SGA President

On behalf of the Student Government Association, I welcome you into the next chapter of your lives. I am excited to see what this year has in store for you and anxious to see how you will grow over the next year. Francis Marion is a place filled with opportunities and challenges tailored to fit your dreams. There will be laughter and strife, victories and defeats, and lessons taught and learned. I encourage you to collect each of your experiences at Francis Marion and build a mountain of memories.

Get involved! This campus is overflowing with opportunities that are open to everyone. I encourage you to find your niche, that thing that makes you happy. Francis Marion has over 40 student organizations waiting for you. I urge you to get involved. You have the power and the time to design your own dream, construct your own path, and walk your own journey. Make good use of your time here at Francis Marion.

Finally, Patriots, believe in yourself and develop a sense of pride for our school. Do what needs to be done so that you can continue to carry the name of FMU with dignity. Let your light shine on this campus and encourage others to do the same.. I wish you nothing less than a life well lived at Francis Marion University and it is my hope that this year prevails as the best year of your life. Feed your mind, body, and spirit with positive experiences and know that the SGA and I are here for you. Remember that nothing worth having is easy, and everything worth keeping is worth working for. Today is the first day of the rest of your life!
