Welcome from Mr. Simpson

Simpson, Cody - sm

Dear Patriots,

On behalf of the Francis Marion University Student Government Association, it is my honor to welcome you and introduce you to the wonderful opportunities available. FMU offers many ways for students to better themselves academically and personally.

I encourage you to take advantage of the resources on campus - Rogers Library, the Tutoring Center and Technology Center, the Writing Center, the Computer Center, and the Media Center. These are just a few places where you can further your skills and education. Most important, each and every one of your professors is more than willing to help you. They believe in your future.

As FMU has continued to grow over the years, campus involvement has played a major role in experiencing college life. FMU builds leaders of high character who are taught to value integrity, selflessness, passion, and patriotism. The Student Government Association is working to build a bridge between the student body and the SGA as well as strengthen patriot pride. Francis Marion is home to over 40 student groups and organizations waiting for you. They bring together students from all walks of life by holding campus-wide events and meetings that enrich our community. Becoming involved will lead to many lifelong friendships and enjoyment. In order to fully experience the “Revolution,” getting involved is the most important part, while maintaining a strong GPA. Please make good use of your time here at Francis Marion.

With all this said, fellow Patriots, believe in yourself and you can achieve the unbelievable. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me or one of your elected SGA Senators. To learn more about SGA please stop by our office in UC Room 215.

I hope you enjoy your stay, and please know that SGA is here for you.

Yours truly,

W.R. “Cody” Simpson, III

SGA President
