Student Activities is an integral part of the mission of the division of student affairs and the overall University mission. The student activities office is responsible for creating a positive campus environment that enhances campus life by providing opportunities for involvement, recreation, and personal growth and development. Students are encouraged to become involved with one or more of our many registered student organizations and variety of events sponsored by the University Programming Board and Student Government Association.
Student Activities is managed by the Assistant Dean of Students for Student Involvement, LaTasha Brand. Dean Brand serves as member of the Dean of Students staff and is responsible for many aspects of student life such as serving as the advisor for the University Programming Board, managing the administrative operations for over 60 student organizations, Welcome Week, and the Student Life Awards. In addition, Dean Brand serves as a judicial officer in the Dean of Students Office, and a member of a variety of campus-wide committees.
