SPAN 301 – Grammar and Composition
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take SPAN-202. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Class analysis of samples of different types of writing and the drafting of student compositions which model these samples. Effective writing strategies are discussed and then incorporated into student writing. Grammar review when appropriate for particular writing assignments.
SPAN 403 – Sur of Hispanic Amer Literature I
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take SPAN-202. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: A survey of important authors from the Colonial period to Independence. Some indigenous pre-Columbian literature will be studied. Emphasis will be on the early chronicles and the Baroque period. Class discussions in Spanish.
SPAN 102 – Elementary Spanish II
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take SPAN-101; Minimum grade C. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Further development of oral and written comprehension and communication in the target language. Continued use of technology to enhance linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness.
SPAN 201 – Intermediate Spanish I
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take SPAN-102; Minimum grade C. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Continued study of the target language with exposure to more complex grammatical structures. Sustained use of technology.
SPAN 202 – Intermediate Spanish II
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take SPAN-201; Minimum grade C. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: A comprehensive review of linguistic structures and content examined in previous semesters. Reading and discussion of a variety of cultural and literary texts. Includes use of technology to increase exposure to the target language and cultures.
SPAN 220 – Spanish for Health Care

FNCH 302 – Conversation
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take FNCH-202. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: The development of oral and listening proficiency in French through conversation on subjects of interest pertaining to France and Francophone countries. Addition of new vocabulary through reading and discussion of authentic print and digital media from the target cultures.
