90-minute beginners course on the basics of popular social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.

Having a social media presence for your business is no longer optional, but which platform do you choose and how do you get started?

This course will cover various business-friendly social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok), how to get started, the types of content to produce on each, gaining fans and followers, creating quality posts, and best use practices.

This event is hosted by Francis Marion University’s Kelley Center for Economic Development and presented by Hannah L. Davis, Development Manager for the City of Florence. Hannah is responsible for managing and executing many of the twenty-plus events that take place in Downtown Florence each year, development of marketing materials for Downtown, and assisting downtown-area small businesses through support and training programs.

Passionate about community development, small business, event coordination, and public service, Hannah came to the City of Florence after spending four years in Lake City, South Carolina, where she managed the Jones-Carter Gallery and was the Director of ArtFields for their 2016 event.

She holds a B.A. in Historic Preservation and Community Planning from the College of Charleston and is a certified Tourism Marketing Professional through the Southeast Tourism Society. She is also a graduate of the Jekyll Island Management Institute and the Francis Marion University Non-profit Leadership Institute, and is a member of the 2020 cohort of Leadership Florence.

In her spare time, Hannah can be found volunteering with and training her human remains detection dogs for law enforcement agencies across the state, working on graphic design projects, or whipping up exciting things in the kitchen.
