FMU crowns 2021 Homecoming king and queen 

Francis Marion University named its 2021 Homecoming king and queen Friday afternoon at the Smith University Center.

The coronation of Homecoming King Malachi Dawson and Queen Kei’yona Jordon took place in a socially distanced ceremony that adhered to campus-wide safety protocols.

Dawson, a junior Mathematics major from Charleston, is a member of the FMU Student Government Association, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the FMU NAACP, and the NPHC.

Jordon, a senior Mass Communication major from Columbia, is a member of the FMU Student Government Association, Student Government Legislature, The Patriot Newspaper, and the Writer’s Release Poetry Club.

Dawson and Jordon will be recognized at halftime of Saturday’s home men’s basketball game against Flagler College.

FMU cancelled its 2021 Homecoming event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
