JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research (IE&R), the Institutional Effectiveness and Research Manager is responsible for managing the completion of assessment initiatives, research design, data collection and analysis. The Manager promotes evidence-based decision-making across the college, including assisting faculty and staff with program review, strategic planning, budget, policy development, and compliance/accreditation needs for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Manages the institutional repository for accreditation-related materials, student assessment reports, institutional information and effectiveness, program review and planning.  Manages the design and development process of statistical studies that evaluate the effectiveness of institutional proposals.  Coordinates, researches and designs projects that focus on the analysis of institutional activities.  Manages the support of departmental design and execution of accreditation and assessment initiatives to include written assessment documents, collection, compilation, analysis and interpretation of complex data for research related projects, grant proposals and reporting.  Supervises assigned staff in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research. Ensures that reports and other required documentation is developed in accordance with end user requirements, within established timelines, and within established policies and procedures.  Collaborates and coordinates with external stakeholders in preparing college institutional reports utilizing data provided by, and in collaboration with, the College’s Information Systems Management Department.  Performs other duties as assigned, which may include service on College committees, participation in peer group committees, and other tasks as directed by supervisor. In Director’s absence, serves as the Director, effectively and efficiently managing every aspect of Institutional Effectiveness and Research.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years professional experience involving the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of quantified data. Preferred requirements include one (1) year of experience in at least one statistical or general programming language allowing for reproducible, automated analysis and reporting; e.g., SPSS, SQL, Stata, SAS.
