Assistant Professor of Economics (24-90)

Francis Marion University and the Economics Program in the School of Business invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics.

 The successful candidate should have completed all the requirements for the Ph.D. in Economics before joining the faculty. Expectations include excellence in teaching, active student engagement inside and outside the classroom, and the development of a high-quality research program. Prior teaching at the university level and experience with online and experiential learning pedagogies are preferred. A typical teaching load includes nine (9) hours per semester. Primary teaching responsibilities include Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, and Intermediate Microeconomics. Interest in teaching one or more field courses in applied microeconomics is ideal. The Economics program offers a major, minor, and collateral.

Position to begin: January 2025 or August 2025
