RPTU Visits FMU Campus to Continue ISC Discussions
International Programs welcomed a delegation from RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) at FMU this fall. RPTU has been named one of the International Travel Study Centers (ISCs)designated by Dr. Carter. The delegation, led by RPTU’s Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Oliver Frör included faculty and staff from both the Kaiserslautern and Landau campuses, including Dr. Christian Dorsch, Deputy Director, International Affairs Office, Prof. Dr. Florence Metz, Professor of Policy Analysis and Political Economy, Prof. Dr. Rouven Haschka, Professor of Data Analytics in Business and Economics, and Dr. Steffen Hagemann, RPTU Academic Coordinator for UniGR EurIdentity Certificate Program.
Drs. Caroliniana Padgett and Lauren Perez, Co-Directors for the RPTU ISC, organized the visit by leading discussions with various faculty at FMU. The delegation met with individuals from the Political Science, Environmental Studies, and Forestry departments, as well as faculty from the Schools of Business and Education. Both FMU and RPTU are working closely to develop a broad curriculum that will engage students from both universities, providing them with international perspectives and experiences during a two-week time span.
The delegation also had the opportunity to debrief with current RPTU students studying at FMU on exchange, as well as FMU students that completed a semester abroad at RPTU last spring.
Drs. Padgett and Perez will be leading the initial ISC travel study to RPTU during Late Spring 2026 with courses focusing on European Studies with a emphasis on economics and EU politics. Similarly, RPTU hopes to bring students from RPTU to FMU on an ISC focusing on natural resource management.
