Description: Advanced principles of the structure, function, and analysis of biological molecules; chemical reactions of biomolecules including kinetics, mechanisms, and thermodynamics; regulation of chemical reactions and response to external signals by cells. Also includes advanced studies of select topics in biochemistry including bioinorganic chemistry, photochemistry, and molecular virology.
