Description: Focuses primarily on the literature of British authors from 1890 to 1950. Takes an interdisciplinary approach, situating literature within larger social, cultural, and artistic movements, exploring the decline of the British Empire, the persistence of the social class system, the disillusionment with the techno-rationalism of modernity, experimental forms of representation such as Cubism, Psychological Realism, Expressionism, Imagism, Futurism, Surrealism, and Existentialism.
