Description: Study of the settlement of North America with particular, but not exclusive, emphasis on the social, political, economic, and intellectual development of the English colonies. The stresses that led to the American Revolution are emphasized along with the campaigns and battles that culminated with the creation and ratification of the Constitution. One 100-level history course or permission of department is prerequisite to all history courses above the 299 level.
