Description: Emphasis on the transition of Mexico from a rural, oligarchic economy and society to an urban-oriented nation in the midst of industrialization. Special emphasis is placed on the Diaz dictatorship, 1876 to 1910, and the Revolution, 1910 to 1940. One 100-level history course or permission of department is prerequisite to all history courses above the 299 level.
