Description: This course is principally devoted to understanding and writing mathematical proofs with correctness and style. Elements of mathematical logic such as Boolean logical operators, quantifiers, direct proof, proof by contrapositive, proof by contradiction, and proof by induction are presented. Other material consists of topics such as elementary set theory, elementary number theory, relations and equivalence relations, equivalence classes, the concept of a function in its full generality, and the cardinality of sets.
