An evidence-based program, MBSR teaches practices that can help participants use inner resources to cope with stress, illness, and pain. This course will include one full day session on a Saturday. Students will learn mindfulness practices such as mindful eating, the body scan, awareness of breathing, mindful yoga, mindful walking, mindful listening, and awareness of sounds and thoughts/feelings. MBSR incorporates guided mindfulness practices; group dialogue and discussion; and teachings on perception, stress reactivity, thought and behavior patterns, resilience, and communication.
