Description: Survey of theoretical foundations and techniques of individual counseling and psychotherapy with an emphasis on empirically supported models of psychotherapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy. The course will provide the student with the opportunity to develop skills in the techniques covered. Attention also will be given to ethical and professional issues in the practice of therapy, as well as issues pertaining to social and cultural diversity. Must be concurrently enrolled in Psychology 600C, Psychological Intervention Practicum.
