Description: A study of the emergence of philosophy in the ancient Greek world. The course focuses primarily on the metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics of Plato and Aristotle, but will include a discussion of the Pre-Socratic, Hellenistic, and Roman philosophers as time permits.
