Description: Origins of mathematics and the development of Egyptian and Babylonian, Pythagorean, Greek, Chinese and Indian, and Arabic mathematics as well as mathematics of the Middle Ages and modern mathematics. The development of the calculus, geometry, abstract algebra, analysis, mathematics notation, and basic mathematics concepts will be emphasized as well as the personalities of mathematicians and their contributions to the subject.
