The Leadership FMU Program is offered as a co-curricular hybrid (classroom and online) leadership program designed to give students an opportunity to experience leadership from a comprehensive perspective. The mission of the program is to enhance leadership skills by providing strategies, tools, and conceptual theories to increase knowledge and promote the effective application. Upon completing the program, students are recognized for their commitment and often represent the University in various capacities.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS:
Applications are due on Thursday, September 13, 2018, by 5:00 pm. Should you need a hard copy of the application, contact the Student Affairs Office at Smith University Center, Room 205 or call 843-661-1182.
The applications will be reviewed and invitations to participate in the program will be extended via email to students until Friday, September 14, 2018, by 5:00 pm.
Please understand that we have a limit to the number of participants each year. Those of you who do not get selected this fall semester will be guaranteed to be selected next fall semester. Our goal is to create a diverse group with a number of participants most manageable for effectiveness.
Participants Must Commit to 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm for each of the following dates:

Monday, October 15, 2018 – Lee Nursing Building, Room 145
Monday, October 29, 2018 – Lee Nursing Building, Room 145
Monday, November 12, 2018 – Lee Nursing Building, Room 145
Monday, November 19, 2018 – Recognition Ceremony – Lee Nursing Building, Thomason Auditorium
The Leadership FMU Program is designed to promote leadership, citizenship, community and positive life skills. Participants must be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student and in good standing with the University academically, financially and compliant with the Honor Code. Students who are currently on disciplinary or academic probation are not eligible for the program at this time. Any changes to the requirements are at the full discretion of the Leadership FMU Advisors.
