Dr. DeMarco was raised in Charleston, SC. He attended college at the University of Virginia and medical school at USC School of Medicine in Columbia. He returned to UVa to complete a residency and chief residency in general internal medicine.
In 2007, after fourteen years of rural internal medicine practice in Marion, SC, he accepted a position at Francis Marion University where he now also serves as Medical Director of the Physician Assistant Program. Dr. DeMarco continues in part-time practice for HopeHealth, the community health center that serves Florence and the surrounding area. His HopeHealth office is located on the FMU campus. His interests include primary care, care of vulnerable populations, and health care reform.
