Kathryn Mann joined Francis Marion in 2016 as an Instructor of first-year composition courses. She has a BA in English and MA in Writing from Coastal Carolina University. Her thesis, “Mixtapes vs. Mashups: A Metaphor of Student Writing,” as a musical exploration of student authority in source use and writing habits, demonstrates her research focus of compositional practices and pedagogies. When she isn’t in the classroom, Kathryn enjoys playing with cats, doing anything outdoors except running, and the usual foodie activities. She is also a trumpet player in the FMU Concert Band.
