Visiting Professor of Theatre Arts–Lighting and Scenic Design (24-56)

Francis Marion University and the Fine Arts Department are seeking a one-year, temporary instructor/guest artist of Theatre Arts-Lighting/Scenery Design. The individual will instruct four classes in design, stagecraft, and general education courses in theatre.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scenery and lighting design as well as technical direction/shop supervisor for three University Theatre productions. Computer aided design knowledge preferred.

The Theatre Program in the Department of Fine Arts offers a bachelor’s degree in performance arts with a Theatre Specialty and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). https://www.fmarion.edu/finearts/

FMU Requirements: The successful applicant will have experience and interest in lighting/scenic design, technical direction, and teaching at the college level.  MFA or PhD preferred.

Start Date:  August 16, 2024
