Welcome to Student Affairs!

The Division of Student Affairs provides students with an opportunity to learn through co-curricular activities, programs and services that are designed to enhance the student collegiate experience.  Through formal and informal formats, students should graduate from the University having demonstrated or acquired comprehensive life skills that will be beneficial throughout their tenure as students and after matriculation.  Our division has identified five essential student learning outcomes: 

  1. CRITICAL THINKING
    1. Through participation in educational programs, workshops and seminars, students will be able to identify resources on campus and within the local community
    2. Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to analyze, question and respond to dilemmas as well as methods for utilizing effective problem solving techniques. 
  2. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
    1. Students will be able to create plans for self improvement to include emotional health, physical and financial health
    2. Students will be able to identify and assess areas in personal growth that may need further development and/or enhancement
  3. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
    1. Students will be able to clarify their values and compare the values of others
    2. Student will have opportunities to formulate plans and participate in events that promote community values and civility 
  4. CULTURAL COMPETENCY
    1. Students will have opportunities to assemble for formal workshops, seminars and special events that examine cultural development and diversity
    2. Students will be able to discuss, analyze and respond to matters regarding diversity, inclusive leadership and community
  5. LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONALISM
    1. Students have the opportunity to participate in student organizations, and special events that allow for leadership development
    2. The University offers workshops and seminars geared toward leadership development and professionalism. Students participating in leadership centered programs and services will be able to examine and explore their leadership capabilities
