FMU School of Education honors Roy Ann Jolley (‘75, ‘84)

Francis Marion University’s School of Education honored alumnus Roy Ann Jolley at its annual alumni awards ceremony at The Cottage on campus April 11.

Jolley was presented with the prestigious Educator Alumni Award in recognition of her exemplary service to the children and families of the Pee Dee region. She has positively impacted the lives of countless students in her career as both a teacher and principal in Florence One Schools.

A Florence native, Jolley graduated from Wilson High School in 1971. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion in 1975 and a master’s degree in education from the university in 1984. Currently, she is the principal of Delmae Heights Elementary School in Florence, where she has served for over 25 years. 

During her more than fifty years as an educator in Florence One Schools, Jolley has won numerous awards including Principal of the Year for the district’s 2016-2017 school year.
