FMU to hold two fall 2021 commencement ceremonies

Francis Marion University will hold commencement ceremonies on Friday, December 17, and Saturday December 18 for its fall 2021 graduating class.

The ceremonies will include more than 250 graduates, divided into two ceremonies to limit attendance and to accommodate for social distancing.

The ceremonies will be held at the Smith University Center and organized around FMU’s four academic schools and colleges. Each graduate will be allowed eight guests, and no one will be allowed in the ceremony without a ticket. Attendees will be required to wear masks.

For those without tickets, remote viewing will be available in Chapman Auditorium. The livestream will also be accessible at www.fmarion.edu and on the FMU YouTube channel.

Similar to recent commencements, the ceremonies will be abbreviated and there will be no formal commencement speaker. Light refreshments will be provided on the UC lawn following the ceremonies.

The ceremonies are scheduled as follows:

Friday, December 17 at 7:30p.m.: School of Education/School of Health Sciences

Saturday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m.: School of Business/College of Liberal Arts
