Recent Financial Assistance News:

• 2012-13 FAFSA:  Complete your 2012-13 FAFSA as soon as you and your parents (or spouse) file your  2011 federal taxes.  To ensure accuracy, it is suggested that you use the IRS Data Retrieval option offered in the income sections of the FAFSA.  The IRS Data Retrieval information should be available approximately 2 weeks after the submission of your Federal tax return.
• SUMMER AID:  If you are interested in applying for 2012 summer school aid, please stop by or call our office at 843-661-1190 to determine what steps you need to take.
• NEW PELL GRANT LIMITATIONS:  Based on a new federal law, students cannot receive Pell Grant for more than 12 semesters (6 years).

Mission Statement:
It is recognized that the costs of higher education are a significant addition to a family's budget. The mission of the Financial Assistance Office is to provide opportunities for students choosing to pursue a course of study at Francis Marion University. This is accomplished through:
  (1) Providing information services to prospective students and the community;
  (2) Assisting students in the financial assistance application process;
  (3) Determining eligibility for assistance and making financial assistance awards;
  (4) Facilitating the timely delivery of financial assistance proceeds.
