Program Description

The Nurse Educator Certificate option is a series of three courses that provide a foundation in the discipline of nursing education. This fully online program prepares the MSN graduate to serve in an academic or clinical nurse educator role. Students must be admitted into the FMU graduate program and hold an MSN degree or be concurrently enrolled in the FMU MSN Family Nurse Practitioner option. Students who have an MSN and complete this certificate program will be qualified to apply for national certification.

Plan of Study

Year 1: Coursework – Total 9 credits – Fully Online

Spring: APRN 604 Teaching and Learning in Nursing (3)

Summer I: APRN 605 Curriculum Development and Program Evaluation (3)

Summer II: APRN 607 Assessment and Evaluation Strategies (3)
