International Professor Guest Lectures at FM

International Programs welcomed Dr. Prof.-Ing. Uwe Herbst from our long-time exchange partner, the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena (EAH Jena) for two weeks this fall.

Dr. Herbst was a guest lecturer in Dr. Lorna Cintron-Gonzalez’s Production Planning course, providing senior engineering students insight on Lean Manufacturing Tools and Practices. Dr. Herbst also engaged with students in Dr. Michael Potter’s and Dr. Mark Kanaparthi’s University Life sections during his stay.

In addition to providing FM Engineering students with insight into German engineering practices, Dr. Herbst encouraged FM students to take advantage of FM’s long standing exchange relationship with EAH Jena during the International Coffee hour event that was hosted by International Programs and the McNair Institute in mid-September. FMU has hosted approximately 11 students from EAH Jena.
