Melissa Dungan appointed Director of International Programs at FMU

Francis Marion University President Fred Carter announced today that Melissa Dungan has been appointed as the Director of International Programs.

In this role, Dungan will coordinate the university’s efforts to provide international study opportunities for FMU students studying abroad and international students studying at the university. She will also oversee FMU’s newly formed International Study Centers in Canada, Ecuador, Germany, and Thailand.

Dungan joined FMU in 2018 as assistant coordinator for international programs.

“I am pleased to announce Melissa’s appointment as director of international programs,” said Carter. “She brings extensive experience and a keen understanding of the opportunities created by our international programs. She is committed to helping our students broaden their perspectives, engage with other cultures, and make the most of experiences that will shape their lives.”

FMU’s international programs involve 12 partner institutions across seven countries. Students may choose from semester-long study abroad programs and short-term travel-study opportunities.
